Adult Children and Mature Parents: Understanding Each Other and Improving Relationships

The relationship between grown children and their mature parents is a special dynamic that requires attention and respect from all sides. As children grow up and become independent themselves, the relationship between them and their parents can go through changes and evoke various emotions.

One of the main features is the need to find a balance between respect for the authority of parents and the independence and self-determination of children.

Parents can experience difficulties in the process of transitioning from the role of caring guardians to the role of supportive and understanding advisers.
It is important for children to maintain their independence and make their own decisions, while respecting the experience and wisdom of their parents.

To do this, both parties must be ready to listen to each other, show empathy and be ready for dialogue.

Relationships with parents are a valuable resource, despite the differences in age and life experience, you can learn to value, cherish and develop such relationships.

I invite you to watch a broadcast on the topic of parent-child relationships, recorded especially for the NeTerpi center together with me and my colleague Asmik Miroyan.
